Parliament votes on Johnson’s Brexit deal

Tonight’s votes in Parliament on Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal suggest that Brexit will probably be delayed beyond 31st October as they led the Prime Minister to “pause” the path to a deal. But it’s not yet clear whether there will be a short delay to push through a deal or a longer delay to allow for a general election. The latter would leave the economy in Brexit limbo for longer. This Update was originally sent to clients as a Rapid Response immediately after the votes in Parliament on 22nd October on Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal.
