What explains falls in Swiss office rental values?

Falls in office rental values in Zurich and Geneva seem at odds with the growing Swiss economy. But for Zurich at least, weakness in the financial services sector seems to explain why office take-up has been so poor. In Geneva, meanwhile, space consolidation has meant decent gross take-up but a negative net figure. More encouragingly, we think improved financial sector confidence should help office rents to rise in both cities from next year.
