The elusive recovery

Fears about the impact of Fed tapering on Ems have eased in recent months, but the economic data have remained weak. Indeed, our GDP Tracker suggests that growth remains stuck at a four-year low. Looking ahead, three factors are likely to determine whether or not EM growth picks up in 2014 – and in each case we think there are reasons to be cautious.
