EM growth steady, but some bright spots

Growth in the emerging world as a whole was steady at around 4.5% y/y over the first few months of the year, but there are several bright spots. Growth has picked up in some of the more open, manufacturing oriented EMs such as Mexico and Central Europe. By contrast, weakness seems to be concentrated in some of the larger EMs, particularly Russia.
