Czech GDP (Q2 2022)

The 0.2% q/q expansion of Czech GDP in Q2 beat the consensus expectation for a small contraction, but it was roughly in line with what we had expected, and still marked a sharp slowdown in growth from Q1. We think that the impact of weaker external demand on exports, as well as rising inflation and higher interest rates on consumption, will push the economy into a recession in the second half of the year.
