Supply fears underpin commodity prices

Many commodity prices rose in April, boosted by supply concerns around industrial metals, agricultural commodities and crude oil. In particular, the price of coffee surged again after early harvests confirmed substantial damage to the crop in Brazil. But the prices of some industrial metals, such as iron ore, remain weak due to the economic slowdown in China and continued over-supply.
