Commodities not in party mode

Commodity prices struggled to find direction in November despite the release of somewhat stronger economic data. Meanwhile, developments on the US-China trade front remained a key driver of sentiment. While a “phase one” trade deal seems likely at some point, we don’t think it would give a significant boost to economic activity. Instead, we expect subdued global economic growth to keep a lid on commodity prices in the months ahead.
