Severe demographic headwinds to hold back Hong Kong

Hong Kong has both the highest life expectancy and the lowest birth rate in the world. One consequence is that Hong Kong’s working age population is set to decline by more than that of any other territory over the next 30 years, which would erode the productive potential of the economy.
