Housing Starts (Sep.)

September’s decline in starts supports our view that last month’s increase was a one-off and starts will fall further in the coming months. We expect the rise in mortgage rates to near 7% to continue to weigh on new home demand and bring starts down to around 800,000 annualised by end-2022.
