The Fed strikes back

This week Fed officials pushed back against the market rally in the wake of October’s unexpectedly weak CPI report, but with only limited success. Despite officials reaffirming that they still had “a ways to go” in tightening policy and that they wouldn’t be swayed by only one month’s data, fed funds futures are still pricing in rate cuts for the second half of next year.
