Households vulnerable to higher rates

The Bank of Canada embraced a new-found hawkishness this week, hiking its policy rate by 50bp to 1.00% and announcing an almost immediate start to what amounts to a relatively more aggressive quantitative tightening than the Fed is contemplating south of the border. We are sending this Weekly one day earlier than usual because our offices are closed for Good Friday on Friday, 15th April.
