Making the case for EM equities

Emerging market equities have typically outperformed their developed market counterparts after US recessions. While we don’t foresee them replicating the sort of outperformance seen after the early-1990s or early-2000s recessions, we do think the MSCI Emerging Markets Index will provide better returns than its developed market equivalent over the next few years, in contrast to much of the past decade.
