The Philippines raised interest rates this week due to rising inflation concerns, and we think Pakistan could follow at its upcoming meeting on Monday given inflation is already above target and external risks are building. Meanwhile, Korea’s Q1 GDP rebounded strongly, driven by a sharp surge in semiconductor exports. Next week’s data is likely to show Taiwan is continuing to benefit from the same semiconductor-led upswing in growth.
