Mortgage approvals for house purchase and remortgaging rose in September, but annual growth in both were still weak. Looking ahead, the outlook is subdued. Even if a Brexit deal is agreed soon, house purchase approvals are unlikely to grow faster than 3% y/y in 2020 and 2021.
