Egypt’s tourism sector has turned the corner in recent months and, if this improvement can be sustained, we estimate that it might result in additional revenues of as much as $3.3bn (1.2% of GDP) over the next twelve months. However, lingering security concerns mean that it is likely to be many years before tourists flock to the country in the same numbers seen before the Arab Spring.
