Recovery in industrial metals has further to run

May was a good month for metals prices. The ongoing revival in economic activity in China helped to lift the prices of most industrial metals, while investment demand for precious metals remained strong. We think that industrial metals prices will generally extend their gains in the months ahead, but that the prices of most precious metals will end the year lower.
