Recovery levelling off

The economy showed further signs of recovery from the earthquake-induced slump at it approached the end of the second quarter. Looking ahead to Q3, survey based measures suggest the recovery is leveling off, in some sectors even before output has returned to its pre-disaster level. Nonetheless, businesses are optimistic that economic conditions will improve further in the third quarter.
