Hong Kong’s Q1 growth surprised significantly to the upside, with the economy expanding by 5.9% y/y, up from 3.8% in Q4. In seasonally adjusted, q/q terms, the economy grew by 2.9%, the fastest pace of quarterly expansion outside of the post-pandemic recovery in over 15 years.
