Bank Indonesia today left interest rates unchanged at 5.50%, but as dovish comments in the press conference by Governor Perry Warjiyo make clear, this is unlikely to mark the end of the central bank’s easing cycle. We are still expecting a further 50bps of cuts before the end of the year.
