Emerging Markets Roundtable - How the energy shock is redefining the EM outlook

Capital Economics, 100 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 5JL

Speakers:

How are rising energy prices and the Middle East conflict reshaping growth, inflation, and market returns across emerging markets? Which economies stand to gain, and which are most at risk?

Our EM economists will explore these questions in a special roundtable at our London office on Wednesday 13 May. This is your chance to hear our latest thinking on the outlook through this year and into 2027, ask questions and exchange views with industry peers.

In this one-hour session, the team will explore critical themes shaping emerging markets, including:

  • How higher energy prices are affecting inflation dynamics, external balances and growth trajectories across EMs;
  • The implications for monetary policy cycles, including delayed easing, renewed tightening risks and where divergence is greatest across economies;
  • The EMs that are set to profit from this conflict;
  • The key EM vulnerabilities to watch, and which economies are most exposed.

We are hosting two sessions at 09:00am and 12:00pm. You can register for your preferred session via the below form.
