Recovery in demand loses steam

The recovery in mortgage approvals and transactions saw steady progress in January. But with surveys implying that the recovery in buyer enquiries has stalled, that recovery may not persist for long. Regardless, with prices already very high and real incomes becoming squeezed, we expect price growth to slow further over the course of the year.
