Why wait?

The relatively calm market reaction to the EU referendum might suggest that there is no urgency for the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) to deliver additional policy stimulus at its policy meeting on July 14th. But we think the Committee will recognise the dangers of disappointing market expectations and cut Bank Rate by 0.25%, before re-starting its quantitative easing programme in August.
