Yield compression strengthens again in March

The economy slowed in the first quarter of the year, but survey evidence typically indicates that activity and confidence strengthened again in March. Moreover, although core inflation took a step lower in March, there are few signs that consumers are deferring spending decisions in the hope of benefitting from lower prices in the future.
