UK institutions make a comeback in January

Much of the economic data has had a slightly healthier tone this month, but it is too soon to know how durable the apparent improvement might be. Meanwhile, although rental values were flat again in January, capital values edged lower for the second consecutive month. Meanwhile, investment market activity got off to a weak start in 2012, with the value of deals down by 10% compared to January 2011. However, while sentiment towards property remains fragile, for the first time in five months, UK institutional investors were net buyers in January.
