Core inflation rises to highest rate since 2014

The Reserve Bank of India’s decision to keep rates on hold and signal the end of its loosening cycle in this month’s policy meeting took many by surprise. But subsequent data showing that core inflation has risen to its highest rate since October 2014 have justified its less dovish stance.
