
Caroline Bain named to the Office for Budget Responsibility's advisory panel

LONDON (Sept. 8, 2023) - Capital Economics Chief Commodities Economist Caroline Bain has been named to the Office for Budget Responsibility’s advisory panel.
Caroline is one of 25 appointees drawn from academia and industry to help the develop and scrutinise the OBR’s work programme and forecasting methods. She will sit on the panel's Energy & Climate Change subcommittee.
Caroline Bain joined Capital Economics in 2014 and leads our team of economists covering commodities markets. Caroline, who previously worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit, is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and the University of London and is also the author of “The Economist Guide to Commodities”.
The OBR, which is funded by the UK Treasury to provide independent forecasts and analysis of the public finances, established its advisory panel of leading economic and fiscal experts in 2011.
