SC rules that Trump's IEEPA tariffs are illegal

In a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court ruled that President Trump was wrong to use the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) as a justification for imposing his far-reaching reciprocal tariffs on most trading partners, under the guise of a balance of payments emergency, and separate tariffs on Canada, China and Mexico, under the guise of a drug trafficking emergency.
