Our Asia Chart Pack has been updated with the latest data and our analysis of recent developments.
Most economies in Asia are on course to record solid growth this year, helped by strong demand for AI-related products, which is boosting exports and helping to offset the drag from high energy prices. Many central banks have raised interest rates in response to the energy shock, and the outlook for monetary policy remains dependent on developments in the Middle East. We expect further rate hikes in a few economies, notably Korea and India, while a number of countries, including Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan, are likely to leave rates unchanged for the rest of the year.
