Should we be worried about M4?

While most economic indicators have pointed to a slowdown in the growth of the UK economy in recent months, one has pointed strongly in the opposite direction. The growth of the broad money supply has accelerated to its fastest rate in six years. This has led to suggestions from some commentators that the prevailing view that interest rates are at or very close to their peak could prove to be well wide of the mark.
