Growth returning, price pressures still weak

After a period of uncertainty and disappointing data, which contributed to Prime Minister Abe’s decision to postpone the sales tax hike, the clouds have started to clear. There are good reasons to expect the initial estimate of Q3 GDP to be revised up later this month and the incoming activity data are also showing renewed signs of life. However, price pressures remain subdued.
