Supply concerns defy the dollar

Following the release of the Fed’s May FOMC minutes, upward revisions to US interest rate expectations and a subsequent appreciation of the dollar brought the recent rally in many commodities prices to an abrupt halt. The exceptions were the prices of oil, which was supported by production outages, and agricultural commodities, which also benefitted from supply concerns.
