Verizon

Scenario analysis case study

Verizon wanted to understand risks to their business through an assessment of the impacts of various macroeconomic scenarios in the US on both the company and the telecommunications industry overall.

Client profile

Verizon is an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate.

Project scope

Verizon wanted to understand risks to their business through an assessment of the impacts of various macroeconomic scenarios in the US on both the company and the telecommunications industry overall.

Our research

We provided a base case outlook for the US economy over the short, medium, and long-term horizons. We focused on a wide range of macroeconomic variables and themes related to both the economy and the telecommunications sector, including the role of innovation in technology and macroeconomic performance. In order to understand the implications of the scenarios on the macroeconomy and telecommunications sector, we used a combination of desk research, data analysis, econometric modeling, and workshops with the Verizon senior management.

Client deliverables

We provided a detailed presentation-style report. We also included an Excel spreadsheet containing underlying data pertinent to the base case forecast and scenario outcomes.

Client results

Verizon utilised the report as part of its corporate-level strategic planning and risk management.
