Executive Summary

We provided a global private equity firm with a comprehensive macroeconomic and energy sector outlook for Poland, equipping them with the insights needed to evaluate a potential investment. Our updated forecasts and risk assessments enabled the client to make a well-informed, data-driven decision in a rapidly evolving market environment.

Client Background

The client is a global private equity investment firm with interests across a range of sectors and geographies. As part of their due diligence process for a potential investment in Poland’s energy sector, they required a forward-looking macroeconomic analysis.

Challenge

Poland’s economic outlook was shifting amid wider regional and global developments. The client needed a clear view of macroeconomic fundamentals and energy-specific cost trends to assess investment risk and return potential over a five-year horizon.

Solution

We conducted a thorough analysis of Poland’s recent macroeconomic developments, producing five-year annual forecasts for GDP, private consumption, real disposable income, inflation, interest rates, and the exchange rate. We also assessed downside risks to the outlook. In parallel, we produced detailed forecasts for key energy-related indicators, including fuel and utility price inflation and non-wage B2B costs. Deliverables included an Excel file containing all forecasts and a six-page, high-level summary report comparing the updated figures with those from the original study conducted six months prior.

Detailed Results

Our insights gave the client a clear, data-backed view of the Polish economic landscape and its energy sector trajectory. With updated forecasts and contextual risk analysis, they were well-positioned to evaluate the viability of their investment opportunity.
