  • Capital Economics Graduate Scheme, applicable dates: September 2024 – present
  • Masters degree, University and course: Birkbeck, MSc Financial Economics

Why did you apply to join the Capital Economics graduate scheme?

Having spent a year at Capital Economics on the placement scheme, I knew that rejoining the company on their graduate scheme would be the best move to further develop my skills as an economist. All the economists are very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions, and they also value my opinions, something which I think is very important for personal and professional development. The opportunity to rotate between four very different teams was also a key factor, along with the option to complete a funded part-time masters.

What have you worked on while on the graduate scheme?

I am currently halfway through my rotation in the Financial Markets team, having previously spent six months in both the North America and India/Asia teams. I have written pieces on a wide range of topics including US tariffs, US equities, Canada’s labour market, Canada’s housing market and the development of India’s digital economy. I also took part in a drop-in and presented my research in a client meeting.
