ISM Manufacturing Index (Sep.)

The modest decline in the ISM manufacturing index to 55.4 in September, from 56.0, suggests that manufacturing output will continue to grow at a relatively faster pace, as producers catch up with the resurgence in goods demand. But the survey also provides more evidence that low inventory levels are set to push goods inflation higher.
