Copper rally not entirely divorced from reality

At face value, the rally in the copper price to above its pre-virus level suggests that the coronavirus pandemic has led to an overall improvement in the metal’s fundamental outlook. While a little counter-intuitive, we think this idea is less far-fetched than it first appears. In fact, we expect the copper price to make further gains between now and the end of next year.
