Brazil GDP (Q1)

The 0.4% q/q rise in Brazilian GDP in Q1 was modest but will go some way to allaying concerns that the economic recovery has stalled altogether. The truck drivers’ strike that has gripped parts of the nation in recent days will weigh on activity in May but, assuming the tentative agreement reached by the government sticks, this should be reversed in the coming months.
