Further downside for the Turkish lira

The Turkish lira has strengthened a little today, but it has been the worst-performing major EM currency this month. We have revisited our forecasts and we now expect further falls in the currency, taking it to 4.00/$ by end-2018 and 4.25/$ by end-2019 (previously 3.80/$ and 4.00/$, respectively).
