Higher oil prices, Korean investment slump

Despite the recent rise in oil prices, inflation across the region is likely to remain subdued throughout 2019. We don’t think higher oil prices will stop Asian central banks from raising interest rates later this year. Meanwhile, although GDP growth is likely to remain weak in Korea for the rest of the year, we think the worst is now over for the economy.
