Our new model points to a 190,000 gain in non-farm payrolls in May, although we anticipate a more pronounced slowdown in employment growth over the next few months. The unemployment rate is expected to rebound to 3.7% in May with average hourly earnings increasing by a solid 0.3% m/m.
