Mark Pragnell is responsible for our bespoke research, commissioned projects and advisory services.
With twenty years experience of applying economics to markets, businesses and public policy, Mark has advised and supported numerous companies, trade associations and public bodies in the UK and abroad. He has helped them plan for the future, understand the implications of changing government policy and make their case to investors, regulators and politicians. Mark has worked with the board directors and senior management of clients in sectors as diverse as advertising, building materials, financial and legal services, leisure, mining, motor manufacturing, property development, ports and shipping, rail and mass transit, telecommunications, travel and tourism.
He joined Capital Economics in January 2012 having previously been head of a partnership of local authorities, providing strategic leadership to the Thames Gateway development zone, and before that managing director of London-based economics consultancy, CEBR, for nine years. He has also held senior strategy roles at the Consumers’ Association and Railtrack plc. Mark read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford.
