Extra £50bn unlikely to be the last of QE

The MPC’s decision to increase its asset purchase programme by another £50bn was as expected and confirmed that the recent improvement in the economic data has not alleviated the need for policymakers to give further support to the economy. We still think that QE2 has much further to go.
