Savings hold the key to dealing with falling commodity prices

The recent rebound in commodity prices has eased concerns about growth outlook for Latin America. But the key point remains that the windfall from high prices has been spent, rather than saved, leaving the region vulnerable to slower growth if commodity prices start to fall again this year. Venezuela is the most at risk, while a relatively small commodities sector means that Mexico is the least exposed.
