Euro-zone Monetary Indicators Monitor (May)
The latest data show that euro-zone money and credit growth remain subdued. Of course, with headline inflation well above target, this won’t stop the ECB from raising interest rates again over the coming months. But it supports our view that aggressive rate hikes are not needed to bring inflation back to target over the next year or two.
