Rate cuts won’t keep pace with ECB (Oct 08)

Recent developments in the global economy and financial markets mean that growth fears will start to overtake lingering inflation concerns amongst policymakers in the region. But diminished investor risk appetite means that weaker exchange rates will shoulder some of the burden of adjustment. As a result, interest rate cuts will not keep pace with those in the euro-zone.
