Turkey: from bright spot to black spot?

In some respects, Turkish fourth quarter GDP data simply confirm what we already knew – the economy picked up pace towards the end of last year and ended 2010 on a high note. But the sheer pace of growth in Q4, and its increasingly unbalanced nature, adds to mounting evidence that the economy is overheating. Turkey’s position as Emerging Europe’s star performer is looking increasingly precarious.
