Thailand political risks contained, but for how long?

The government will probably continue to hold the upper hand in Thailand’s street protests and a compromise is increasingly likely which will involve early elections. But a new vote may not end the political tensions. There is no guarantee that the loser in any new parliamentary contest will accept the result while, lurking in the background, is the issue of succession in the royal family. None of this should stall the economic upswing but there will be some rocky periods ahead.
